PICTURES FROM THE ROAD - DAY ONE

Saying good-bye.

This is where the leaving route and the return route would intersect just about four miles outside of my home town.

The HILL at Florence.

This was a pretty common site.

At Barry Illinois I turned off my normal route to try one that was suggested by a friend. It was pretty rough and hilly but no doubt helped prepare me for worse to come.

My brother Tom was made famous in the Colorado Springs Gazette when they printed this picture of him and his dog Harley in place of me when they wrote an article about the ride. They made numerous other mistakes as well but it was really funny none-the-less.
